Has anyone noticed that the secondhand prices of RTX 3050s have gotten close to the price of some used 1660 Supers, at least in my region? I’ve been hunting for a budget build and was originally looking at older cards, but now I wonder if the 3050 makes more sense for not much more money.
For those who own or have tried both, how’s the actual real-world performance in budget setups, especially for current games like Fortnite, Apex, or Baldur’s Gate 3? I also heard the 3050 can do some ray tracing, but is it even worth it at this price point, or does it just tank the framerate?
Curious if anyone has made this upgrade or direct comparison in a budget rig. Also, is there anything about the 3050, like DLSS or driver stuff, that gives it an edge for the extra ~$30? Or will the difference not matter for typical 1080p gaming with no plans for streaming?
Would love to hear your advice or experiences, especially any benchmarks or “wish I had known before buying” kind of things!
