Does a decent cheap gaming laptop actually exist, or is this just a myth marketers keep pushing? I’ve been lurking these threads for years and still haven’t seen anything under $700 that doesn’t make major compromises—either the GPU is underpowered, it has 8GB soldered RAM that can’t be upgraded, or the display is total garbage. Refurbs and used stuff sometimes pop up, but then there are worries about battery life/hidden issues.
Are there ANY models right now that genuinely hit a sweet spot for value—where you’re not stuck with a potato after a year or two? Or is it always: “save up more, or settle for disappointment”? Would love to see concrete, recent examples (no “wait for a sale” cop-outs).
