Does anyone else feel like the whole “you NEED a Ryzen 7 for gaming” narrative is overblown, especially if you’re on a budget? I keep seeing posts everywhere recommending Ryzen 7 builds for people who mostly play esports titles or 1080p games. Am I missing something, or isn’t a Ryzen 5 (even an older one) still more then enough for most gaming use cases? It feels like the price jump to Ryzen 7 just isn’t justified unless you’re doing heavy multitasking, streaming, or content creation alongside gaming.
Curious if anyone’s actually running into CPU bottlenecks with a Ryzen 5 and a midrange GPU, or if the “Ryzen 7 or bust” push is just hype from people chasing benchmark numbers in games that don’t reflect everyday use. Thoughts? Anyone regret not spending more? Or the opposite – anyone regret “future-proofing” by overspending upfront?
